Critics described the show as unfocused and lacking depth, with Variety calling it a 'misguided West End import' and The New York Times labeling it 'bland.'
The musical had previously enjoyed success in London's Almeida Theatre in 2022, earning four Olivier Award nominations and strong reviews overseas.
Despite the Broadway closure, Elton John’s other musical projects, including 'The Devil Wears Prada,' continue to run in London.
