Elon Musk is planning to establish a primary and secondary school, and eventually a university, in Austin, Texas, according to tax filings for his charity, The Foundation.
The educational institution will focus on STEM subjects and is seeded with a $100 million gift from Musk.
The Foundation plans to seek accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges for the university.
The school is expected to start with an initial enrollment of 50 students and will be funded through donations and tuition fees.
This is not Musk's first foray into education. He previously created a school for his children and a few children of SpaceX employees.
