Ellie Kildunne and Pieter-Steph du Toit Named World Rugby Players of the Year
The England fullback and South African flanker were honored at the World Rugby Awards in Monaco following standout seasons.
- Ellie Kildunne, England's fullback, was named World Rugby Women's Player of the Year after leading her team to a Six Nations Grand Slam and WXV 1 title in 2024.
- Kildunne scored nine tries during the Six Nations and was also named Player of the Championship for her dynamic performances.
- Pieter-Steph du Toit of South Africa received the Men's Player of the Year award for the second time, recognizing his pivotal role in the Springboks' Rugby Championship victory and Autumn series success.
- Ireland's Erin King was awarded Women's Breakthrough Player of the Year, just months after transitioning from sevens rugby and making her 15-a-side Test debut.
- Other honorees included France's Antoine Dupont and Australia's Maddison Levi, who were named Sevens Players of the Year for their respective contributions to Olympic success and record-breaking performances.
