Elle Fanning Wears Sarah Burton’s First Givenchy Design at 2025 Oscars

The actress debuted a custom gown inspired by Givenchy’s 1952 collection, marking Burton’s first haute couture creation for the fashion house.

Elle Fanning attended her first Academy Awards wearing a custom Givenchy gown designed by Sarah Burton, the brand's new creative director.
The dress, made of French Lyon lace and silk tulle, featured a molded corset, Watteau cape, and a black grosgrain bow belt, drawing inspiration from Hubert de Givenchy's 1952 collection.
Fanning collaborated closely with Burton, who personally traveled to Los Angeles for fittings to finalize the design.
The gown also incorporated vintage elements, paired with a Cartier necklace from 1958, and was styled by Fanning’s longtime stylist, Samantha McMillen.
This red carpet moment comes just days before Burton's highly anticipated debut Givenchy collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 7, 2025.
