Elizabeth Line Passenger Dragged Along Platform After Hand Trapped in Door

An investigation is underway after a passenger was forced to run alongside a moving train at Ealing Broadway station, sustaining minor injuries.

The incident occurred on November 24, 2024, at Ealing Broadway station, involving an Elizabeth line train operated by MTR under a Transport for London concession.
The passenger’s hand became trapped in the closing doors as they attempted to board, forcing them to run alongside the train for 17 meters before being pulled away by a platform staff member.
Nearby passengers alerted the driver, who stopped the train shortly after it began moving; the passenger sustained minor injuries.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) has launched an inquiry to examine the sequence of events, risk management practices, and potential contributing factors.
