• The stabbing occurred at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday at the Union Gospel Mission men’s shelter on Commercial Street Northeast in downtown Salem.
• Salem Police Department spokeswoman Angela Hedrick said officers arrested a male suspect shortly after the violence and have not released his identity.
