Overview
- October registrations across the EU, UK and EFTA rose 4.9% to 1.092 million, with Germany, Spain and France higher and Italy slightly lower.
- Battery-electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid registrations rose 38.6%, 43.2% and 9.4%, taking their combined share to about 63.9% of new cars.
- BYD sold 17,470 EVs and plug-in hybrids in October, up 206.8% year on year, lifting its market share to 1.6% from 0.5%.
- Tesla’s registrations fell 48.5% from a year earlier, while petrol and diesel models declined about 18.3% across most markets.
