Overview
- Across nine states and three union territories, 99.90% of enumeration forms have been distributed and 96.48% have been digitised, the Election Commission’s latest bulletin shows.
- Kerala’s enumeration and polling-station rationalisation will now run through December 18, with claims and objections open from December 23 to January 22, 2026.
- The extension came after the Supreme Court allowed Kerala to seek more time; the EC met the state’s chief secretary and CEO, who reported over 95% digitisation with full completion expected by December 11.
- In West Bengal, nearly 99% of forms are digitised and about 54.6 lakh entries have been flagged as potentially excludable, with the EC ordering re-verification of deceased records using municipal, financial, and welfare data.
- Uttar Pradesh reports the lowest major-state digitisation at 91.98%, and the EC has urged recognised parties to deploy additional Booth Level Agents to bolster field verification.
