Overview

• Local authorities and human-rights organizations held the 49th‑anniversary act at the signposted memory site near the RN 9 and RP 11 junction in La Caldera, with families of victims in attendance.
• School Nº 4118 participated after its director, Eva Erazo, questioned an initial omission, received apologies and a formal invitation, and reaffirmed that teaching memory is an obligation and a children’s right.
• The homage recalled those abducted and killed in September 1976, including Silvia Benjamina Aramayo, Gemma Ana María Fernández Arcieri de Gamboa, Héctor Domingo “Guilo” Gamboa, Daniel Loto Zurita, Carlos Estanislao Figueroa Rojas, Martín Miguel Cobos and Ángel Rodríguez Concha.
• The municipality’s annual commemoration is institutionalized by ordinances 595 and 798, with support from the Mesa salteña de Derechos Humanos, the Liga Argentina por los Derechos Humanos and the Asociación Miguel Ragone.
• Speakers reiterated unresolved accountability dating to the dictatorship, noting documented investigative failures and judicial indifference at the time, Megacausa findings that many victims were dynamited at El Gallinato, and an estimate of at least 18 people killed there.
