El Chapo's wife Emma Coronel released from US prison after serving less than two years

Emma Coronel Aispuro was arrested in 2021 on charges of drug trafficking and money laundering related to her husband's Sinaloa cartel.
She pleaded guilty to three counts and was sentenced to three years in prison as well as forfeiture of $1.5 million.
Coronel admitted to acting as a messenger for El Chapo while he was in prison and helping with his escape.
She served time in both federal prisons in Texas and California before being released to a halfway house.
It's unclear if Coronel will face any charges in Mexico, where El Chapo is serving a life sentence.
