Overview
- Overnight red paint and slogans such as “Free Palestine” and “El Al Genocide Airline” were sprayed on the entrance and pavement of the airline’s Paris office.
- El Al said the building was empty at the time, no employees were harmed and the company is handling the matter with “utmost gravity” in coordination with French and Israeli authorities.
- Transportation Minister Miri Regev denounced the act as “barbaric” on social media and demanded that French law enforcement swiftly identify and punish the perpetrators.
- Ambassador Joshua Zarka visited the scene and called the graffiti an “act of terrorism” intended to terrorize El Al staff and Israeli citizens.
- The vandalism comes amid a wave of anti-Jewish attacks in France since the 2023 Gaza war, following earlier green-paint defacements of synagogues and the Shoah Memorial this summer.
