- Eintracht Braunschweig announced the signing of Mehmet Can Aydin from FC Schalke 04 on July 2, 2025, on a free transfer running through June 30, 2027.
- Aydin becomes the fifth ex-Schalke player at Braunschweig, joining Ron-Thorben Hoffmann, Lino Tempelmann, Sebastian Polter and Sidi Sané in the current roster.
- Sporting director Benjamin Kessel praised Aydin’s experience with Germany’s youth national teams, both Bundesliga tiers and the Turkish Süper Lig, as well as his ability to play on the right flank or in central positions.
