Overview
- The Home Run Derby will start at 8 p.m. ET Monday at Truist Park in Atlanta with live coverage on ESPN and ESPN2 and streaming via WatchESPN and Fubo.
- The eight competitors include MLB home run leader Cal Raleigh and hometown favorite Matt Olson, who replaced Ronald Acuña Jr. in the field announced earlier this month.
- Batters will face three elimination rounds with a three-minute or 40-pitch opening session followed by two-minute or 27-pitch semifinals and finals, and bonus outs for homers of at least 425 feet.
- Each participant chooses their own pitcher for batting practice, and Raleigh has tapped his father, Todd Raleigh, to throw to him.
- Prize money awards $1 million to the winner, $500,000 to the runner-up and $150,000 to each of the other six participants under MLB’s All-Star Week incentive structure.
