Eight Injured as Russian Strikes Hit Sumy and Kherson, Officials Say

Officials report a concentrated barrage that damaged homes, infrastructure, vehicles across dozens of Sumy communities.

  • Police recorded 47 attacks across Sumy Oblast hitting 39 settlements, with five people wounded including a 17-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man when a drone struck a car in the Sumy hromada.
  • A 53-year-old man was injured in the Buryn hromada, a postal worker was hurt in Seredyna-Buda, and a 56-year-old woman was wounded in Trostianets where multiple buildings were damaged.
  • Reported damage in Sumy included two houses, a car and a petrol station, as well as three apartment buildings and an office in Trostianets.
  • Kherson Oblast officials said three people were injured as Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Bilozerka, Stanislav and Beryslav came under drone, air and artillery fire that damaged apartments, houses, an office and a vehicle.
  • Authorities are documenting destruction and have opened criminal cases under Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code for war crimes, with prior days’ strikes also reported against infrastructure in Kharkiv, Sumy and Cherkasy.
