Eight Arrested in Bengaluru for Posing as Cops in ₹31.7 Lakh Navi Mumbai Robbery

Police recovered Rs 30.4 lakh in stolen valuables in Bengaluru after tracking suspects linked to a Juinagar ATM abduction

  • On May 31 a cash-handling businessman was forced into a car at a Juinagar ATM by eight men posing as police and robbed of Rs 31.73 lakh.
  • The gang used a vehicle taken from the Sanpada bridge to carry out the abduction and abandoned it on Palm Beach Road.
  • A tip-off led Navi Mumbai officers to Bengaluru where the suspects were arrested on June 2 near the Upperpet police station.
  • Investigators recovered Rs 30.4 lakh in cash and valuables from the accused, who are natives of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
  • An FIR has been registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections covering dacoity, abduction, impersonation of a public servant and criminal conspiracy.
