- On May 31 a cash-handling businessman was forced into a car at a Juinagar ATM by eight men posing as police and robbed of Rs 31.73 lakh.
- The gang used a vehicle taken from the Sanpada bridge to carry out the abduction and abandoned it on Palm Beach Road.
- A tip-off led Navi Mumbai officers to Bengaluru where the suspects were arrested on June 2 near the Upperpet police station.
- Investigators recovered Rs 30.4 lakh in cash and valuables from the accused, who are natives of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
- An FIR has been registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections covering dacoity, abduction, impersonation of a public servant and criminal conspiracy.
