The 43-year-old coach requested to step down due to personal challenges, including the death of his mother, which he stated had impacted his ability to fully commit to the role.
Kaltenhauser initially joined the team as an assistant coach in the summer of 2024 and was promoted to head coach in November following a disappointing start to the season.
The team, currently ranked fifth in the league, will face defending champions Eisbären Berlin on Thursday, with plans for a new head coach to be announced at a later date.
