EHang Debuts VT35, a Pilotless Lift-and-Cruise eVTOL With 125-Mile Range

Presented in Hefei, the program is anchored by a government-backed hub set to host headquarters, production facilities and test operations.

Overview

  • EHang showed the VT35 airborne ahead of its official launch, describing it as a next-generation long-range autonomous passenger aircraft.
  • The lift-and-cruise model uses eight vertical-lift propellers and one propulsion propeller, with a claimed 125-mile range, about 60 minutes of flight time and a 134 mph cruise speed.
  • The cockpit-free cabin is designed for passengers with premium seating and a large display for trip details, climate controls and entertainment.
  • The company says the aircraft targets cross-city, over-water and mountainous routes to support longer regional intercity travel.
  • Hefei detailed a RMB 1 billion VT35 program with up to RMB 500 million in support, and the launch follows CAAC AOCs enabling EH216-S passenger flights, while VT35 certification has not been disclosed.
