Edward Lachman Wins Top Honors at 2025 ASC Awards for 'Maria'

The 39th annual American Society of Cinematographers Awards recognized achievements in film, TV, and more, with notable wins for 'Maria,' 'Nickel Boys,' and 'Shōgun.'

Edward Lachman received the Theatrical Feature Film prize for his cinematography on 'Maria,' marking his first win after five prior nominations.
'Maria,' directed by Pablo Larraín, explores the life of opera singer Maria Callas and is the final film in Larraín’s 'Important Women' trilogy.
Jomo Fray earned the Spotlight Award for his work on 'Nickel Boys,' a historical drama about two African-American boys in a 1960s reform school.
TV winners included Robert Elswit for 'Ripley' in the Limited Series category and Sam McCurdy for 'Shōgun' in the One-Hour Episodic category.
Lifetime honors were presented to Kathleen Kennedy, Andrzej Bartkowiak, and other distinguished contributors to the field of cinematography.
