• A jury at Guildford crown court found the 68-year-old guilty on 10 October and he was remanded in custody.
• The CPS Organised Child Sexual Abuse Unit and the NCA built the case from seized devices and encrypted chats arranging and facilitating abuse in the UK and abroad.
• Evidence included more than 1,300 indecent images and messages offering to supply GBL to sedate children and to arrange paid abuse with contacts including in Romania.
• He was arrested at Stansted Airport on 7 March 2025 before a flight to Bucharest, and investigators later found GBL at his home in Mitcham, south London.
• Court records disclosed he previously provided information to police on environmental and animal‑rights groups between 1995 and 2003.
