• Leslie Wadsworth told The Hollywood Reporter her father died at a health care facility in Vista, California.
• Faulkner appeared in six John Wayne films, including McLintock!, The Green Berets, Hellfighters, The Undefeated, Rio Lobo and Chisum.

• Born on Leap Day in 1932 in Lexington, Kentucky, he studied at the University of Virginia and the University of Kentucky, served two years as a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, then moved to Los Angeles in 1958, where director Andrew V. McLaglen helped launch his screen career.
• He stepped away from acting in 1976 for work in marine cargo container leasing and hotel operations, and he is survived by daughters Jan, Barbara and Leslie, son Edward III, and grandchildren Tyler, Wyatt, Steven, Olivia and Brooke.
