Overview
- Exam boards will provide results to schools on Wednesday, August 20, ahead of student access from 08:00 BST on Thursday, August 21.
- The Education Record app pilot will deliver results to roughly 95,000 pupils in Manchester and the West Midlands at 11:00 BST on results day.
- Schools will distribute printed or emailed results and can arrange postal delivery or authorised collection by a named individual with photo ID.
- GCSEs are graded on the 9–1 scale introduced in 2017, with grades 7–9 matching A–A*, grade 4 a standard pass and grade 5 a strong pass.
- Students with unmet expectations can seek reviews or appeals, resit English and maths in autumn 2025 and other subjects in summer 2026, or consider alternative courses and apprenticeships.
