Overview
- The State of Mexico kept Phase 1 in place for the Valle de Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco, enforcing Double Hoy No Circula from 05:00 to 22:00 on Friday, December 26.
- Restrictions cover all vehicles with hologram 2; hologram 1 with plate endings 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9; and hologram 0 and 00 with blue sticker and plate endings 9 and 0, with added limits for freight (06:00–10:00), a 50% cut to LP gas units lacking dry-disconnect valves, and a taxi window from 05:00 to 10:00.
- The double restriction applies only in those two metropolitan zones, while Mexico City and the broader Valley of Mexico follow the regular Friday program for blue-sticker vehicles with plate endings 9 and 0 bearing hologram 1 or 2 (05:00–22:00).
- Official monitors reported elevated particles on December 25, including peaks of 84 and 82 µg/m³ at the Almoloya de Juárez and Xonacatlán stations.
- Authorities linked the spike to fireworks, bonfires, and a thermal inversion, issued health advice for sensitive groups, and scheduled status bulletins for 15:00 and 20:00 to determine any changes.
