Overview
- Arvi Singh Sagoo, 55, was found unconscious near 109 Street and 100 Avenue around 2:20 a.m. on October 19 and died on October 24.
- Police say he was punched once after he asked a man, “Hey, what are you doing?” upon finding him urinating on his car.
- Edmonton Police Service says Sagoo and the accused, 40-year-old Kyle Papin, were strangers and the attack was described as unprovoked.
- Papin was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, the Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation, and additional charges are possible.
- A friend launched a fundraiser for Sagoo’s two children, and Papin’s next court appearance is scheduled for November 4.
