Overview

  • Edelweiss will take over an Airbus A320 (HB-JLQ) from SWISS in mid-October 2025 to boost short-haul capacity.
  • Its first A320neo (HB-JDB) is slated for April 2026 after storage in Zurich since 2023, featuring PW1000 engines and 180 seats.
  • The two additions will bring the carrier’s short-haul fleet to 16 aircraft based in Zurich.
  • The airline cites at least 15% lower fuel burn, lower emissions and reduced noise for the A320neo, enabling longer short- and medium-haul routes.
  • Long-haul renewal continues with two A350-900s already in service, the first of six ex-LATAM jets intended to replace A340-300s by mid-2027.
