• Eddie Vedder closed night one of Ohana in Dana Point on Sept. 26 by reuniting the Earthlings for their first performance in two years.
• They opened with Devo’s Gut Feeling, worked the instrumental intro of Led Zeppelin’s The Song Remains the Same into Pearl Jam’s Rearviewmirror, and covered The Who’s I’m One, Mono Men’s Watch Outside, and George Harrison’s Isn’t It a Pity.
• The Earthlings lineup featured Andrew Watt, Josh Klinghoffer, Glen Hansard, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and bassist Chris Chaney.
• Vedder delivered a personal story about a high school administrator who tried to derail him, saying music lifted him up and didn’t let that person win.
