Overview

• On July 10 the Enforcement Directorate registered an ECIR under the PMLA naming 29 actors, influencers and YouTubers over suspected paid promotions of illegal betting apps.
• After missing his July 23 summons, Rana Daggubati requested a postponement and has been asked to appear for questioning on August 11.
• Prakash Raj, Vijay Deverakonda and Manchu Lakshmi have been summoned to depose on July 30, August 6 and August 13 respectively.
• The probe draws on five FIRs filed in Panjagutta, Miyapur, Cyberabad, Suryapet and Visakhapatnam under the Public Gambling Act, 1867.
