The singer and Ipswich Town minority owner expressed regret after inadvertently halting Ruben Amorim's first post-match interview as United's coach.

Overview

Ed Sheeran interrupted Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim's live Sky Sports interview following a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
Sheeran, a lifelong Ipswich fan and minority owner, approached analyst Jamie Redknapp during the broadcast to greet him, unaware the interview was ongoing.
The singer later apologized on Instagram, stating he did not realize Amorim was being interviewed and admitted feeling embarrassed about the incident.
The game marked Amorim's debut as Manchester United's head coach, with Marcus Rashford scoring early and Omari Hutchinson equalizing for Ipswich before halftime.
Sheeran has been a prominent supporter of Ipswich Town, serving as their shirt sponsor since 2021 and becoming a minority stakeholder earlier this year.
