Overview

  • The Enforcement Directorate conducted PMLA searches on June 18 at 37 Delhi locations and recovered 322 bank passbooks linked to mule accounts allegedly used to divert school construction funds.
  • Investigators also seized original GNCTD files and rubber stamps of PWD officials alongside fake procurement records uncovered through forged letterheads.
  • Former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was questioned by the Anti-Corruption Branch on June 20 for over three hours and is reported to have given evasive answers to most key questions.
  • Authorities allege the classroom project’s scope was expanded from 2,405 to 12,748 units without proper approvals, inflating per-classroom costs to ₹24.86 lakh from an estimated ₹5 lakh.
  • The Aam Aadmi Party has described the action as politically motivated even as ED and ACB press on with their financial irregularities and money laundering investigations.
