Overview
- Enforcement Directorate officers searched Biplab Sarkar’s house in Parari village, Chakdaha in Nadia district on November 3 in the forged passport probe.
 - Investigators seized at least one passport, scanned Sarkar’s mobile phone, questioned family members, and began reviewing his travel history and bank transactions.
 - ED sources say Sarkar’s name surfaced during the interrogation of Indubhushan Halder, a middleman arrested on October 13 and linked by investigators to hundreds of applications.
 - The case is tied to Pakistani national Azad Hussain, also known as Azad Mallik, who was arrested in April on allegations of living under an assumed identity and arranging Indian documents for Bangladeshi clients.
 - The ED has filed a PMLA charge sheet, while state police earlier named 130 accused and issued lookout notices, and officials are also probing alleged hawala and fake visa links.
