ED Issues New Summons to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Two Cases

The Enforcement Directorate has issued new summonses to Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor policy and a fresh case linked to the Delhi Jal Board, amid allegations of a plan to arrest him before the Lok Sabha polls.

  • Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal received two fresh summonses from the ED, including one for the Delhi liquor policy case and another for a case related to the Delhi Jal Board.
  • Kejriwal has previously skipped eight summonses in the liquor policy case, claiming them to be illegal. A Delhi court recently granted him bail for skipping six of these summonses.
  • The AAP accuses the BJP of using the ED and CBI to target political opponents, especially with the timing of the summonses coinciding with the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates.
  • In addition to the liquor policy case, the ED is investigating an alleged bribery case linked to a tender issued by the Delhi Jal Board, with several arrests already made.
  • Senior AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, are already under judicial custody in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.
