ED Arrests Two Former Reliance Anil Ambani Group Managing Directors

The agency says custodial questioning and forensic transaction tracing are needed to identify offshore beneficiaries of the alleged funds.

Overview

  • Two former RAAG executives, Sateesh Seth and Gautam Bhailal Doshi, were arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in cases tied to Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Communications after actions taken on June 12.
  • Special PMLA courts in Mumbai and Delhi produced the men and remanded Seth to ED custody for six days and Doshi for five days to allow custodial interrogation.
  • The ED alleges a network of shell firms and fictitious invoices moved roughly Rs 92–100 crore abroad from two NHAI road projects and other group businesses, and investigators are tracing bank records and overseas transfers to find the end recipients.
  • Reliance says both men left the group years earlier—Seth in 2025 and Doshi in 2020—and a Delhi court ordered regular medical checks and prescribed diet for Seth after noting his recent brain stroke.
  • Investigators will preserve CCTV-recorded interviews and continue forensic accounting and international tracing, a process that could produce new charges, identify overseas beneficiaries, and prompt further legal action.
