ED Alleges Vadra Laundered Rs58 Crore From Gurugram Land Deal

A special PMLA court will consider the ED’s July 17 prosecution complaint on August 28.

Overview

  • The ED’s chargesheet alleges that Vadra acquired a 3.5-acre Gurugram plot as a bribe and sold it to DLF for Rs58 crore.
  • The agency says Rs53 crore was routed through Sky Light Hospitality and Rs5 crore through Blue Breeze Trading, with a Rs7.5 crore cheque in the sale deed never encashed.
  • Investigators claim the land transfer was in exchange for Vadra’s influence with then-CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda to secure a housing licence.
  • The ED has provisionally attached 43 immovable properties valued at about Rs38.7 crore as proceeds of crime.
  • Vadra has denied the allegations, calling the proceedings a political witch-hunt ahead of the August 28 court hearing.
