Ecuadorian Soccer Player Marco Angulo Dies at 22 After Car Crash

The FC Cincinnati midfielder succumbed to injuries sustained in an October accident in Ecuador that also claimed two other lives.

Marco Angulo was a passenger in a car that crashed into a metal barrier near Quito, Ecuador, on October 7.
The accident resulted in the deaths of Angulo, his former teammate Roberto Cabezas, and another passenger.
Angulo suffered severe head injuries and a lung contusion, leading to multiple surgeries and an artificial coma.
The 22-year-old was on loan to Ecuadorian club LDU Quito from MLS team FC Cincinnati at the time of the crash.
Angulo had represented Ecuador internationally, playing in friendlies against Iraq and Australia in 2022 and 2023.
