Overview

  • Ecovista CEO Michael Bader said operators will adjust routines to address missed connections, inconsistent signage and limited facilities at key shuttle stops.
  • Deutsche Bahn crews have de-energized overhead lines, removed cables, switch machines and signal magnets and deployed work trains to deliver thousands of tonnes of rails, sleepers and ballast to about 130 construction sites.
  • The replacement bus network of 170 vehicles on 28 routes has settled into stable operation since August 1, though further fine-tuning is expected in the coming days.
  • Long-distance ICE and IC services continue to detour via Stendal and Uelzen, running less frequently and adding around 45 minutes to journey times.
  • The nine-month renovation will renew tracks, signal boxes, overhead lines and 28 stations as part of Deutsche Bahn’s €78 billion corridor modernisation programme through 2036.
