Overview
- West Bengal authorities issued show-cause notices to several booth level officers for handing out forms from fixed locations and registered police cases against booth level agents accused of interfering with distribution, with a public helpline opened for complaints.
- Online filing of Special Intensive Revision enumeration forms has been activated on the ECI voter services portal after earlier glitches, with EPIC–mobile number linkage required and Aadhaar-based e-sign for submission.
- Form distribution has scaled up rapidly, including more than 4.17 crore forms in West Bengal by Saturday evening, over 1.56 crore in Rajasthan in five days, and about 35 lakh in Kerala with roughly half already returned.
- States rolled out access tools and support, including Tamil Nadu’s search facility to retrieve details from the 2002/2005 SIR rolls and a new WhatsApp contact, plus Kerala’s call centre, email support and videos to guide overseas electors.
