• Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi held an all‑party meeting in Patna on Oct. 4 with representatives of 12 recognised parties and reviewed security and logistics with senior officials.
• Most parties urged polling immediately after the Chhath festival and in as few phases as possible, with JD(U) backing a single phase and RJD and CPI‑ML favoring two phases, while the BJP sought a one‑ or two‑phase schedule and voter notifications.

• ECI highlighted measures such as capping 1,200 voters per polling station, counting postal ballots before the penultimate EVM round and ensuring Form 17C reaches party agents, and is expected to announce the poll schedule soon according to multiple reports.
