Overview
- Over the past six months, officials held 40 meetings at the CEO level, 800 by district election officers, and 3,879 by electoral registration officers, engaging more than 28,000 party representatives.
- The initiative was conceived at a March 2025 conference of chief electoral officers and rolled out as a formal consultation program.
- In May, the commission met heads or authorised representatives of five national parties: BSP, BJP, CPI(M), NPP and AAP.
- The Indian National Congress was invited for May 15 but deferred its participation and has not responded to rescheduling, according to the commission.
