ECI Reports Nearly 95% Coverage in Bihar Voter Roll Revision, Flags 52 Lakh Anomalies

Overview

  • The Election Commission has collected enumeration forms from 7.11 crore out of 7.89 crore electors, achieving an effective 94.68% coverage after accounting for deceased, shifted and duplicate entries
  • The Special Intensive Revision flagged 52 lakh anomalies for potential deletion, including 18.66 lakh deceased, 26.01 lakh shifted, 7.5 lakh duplicates and 11,484 untraceable voters
  • The Supreme Court refused to stay the revision but ordered the ECI to consider Aadhaar, Voter ID and ration card for verification and submitted its detailed response by July 21
  • Draft electoral rolls will be published on August 1 with a one-month claims and objections period until September 1, and the final roll is due by September 30
  • Over 1.5 lakh Booth Level Agents, 78,000 Booth Level Officers and 400,000 volunteers have been mobilised alongside all political parties to ensure comprehensive door-to-door enumeration
