ECI Ramps Up Bihar Poll Crackdown With Multi-Agency Drive and Real-Time Seizure Tracking

  • Enforcement bodies have seized Rs 33.97 crore in cash, liquor, drugs and freebies since October 6, according to the Election Commission.
  • Directions span state police and excise along with Income Tax, RBI, DRI, CGST/SGST, Customs, ED, NCB, RPF, CISF, SSB, AAI, the Department of Post, and other departments.
  • Expenditure observers are in place across constituencies, with flying squads, surveillance and video teams working round the clock to spot suspected inducements.
  • The Election Seizure Management System is active for real-time reporting by field teams, and citizens can submit complaints through the C-Vigil app.
  • Polling is scheduled for November 6 and 11 with counting on November 14, and the ECI has ordered checks that do not harass citizens while expanding accessibility with ramps, Braille slips and 292 PwD-managed booths across 90,712 polling stations.
