Overview
- Election Commission released the final Bihar electoral roll on 30 September, with digital access for voters and physical copies shared with district authorities and recognised parties.
- From 7.89 crore electors before the Special Intensive Revision, about 65 lakh were deleted in the draft, a further 3.66 lakh removed and 21.53 lakh added during scrutiny, yielding roughly 7.42 crore voters.
- The Supreme Court has scheduled final arguments for 7 October and has warned it could set aside the rolls if large-scale illegality is proven; it also permitted Aadhaar as a valid ID for registration.
- ECI leaders will review poll readiness in Patna on 4–5 October, and the election schedule is expected to be announced shortly thereafter, subject to the review.
- Under electoral rules, eligible citizens may still seek inclusion up to 10 days before the last date for nominations, with names added via supplementary lists.
