Overview
- Counting across all 243 assembly constituencies starts at 8:00 a.m. with postal ballots, with EVM tallies from 8:30 a.m.
- 243 Returning Officers will run 4,372 counting tables, with supervisors, assistants, micro-observers and over 18,000 counting agents in place.
- Control units will be shown to agents and votes will be cross-checked with Form 17C, with any mismatch triggering mandatory VVPAT slip counting.
- VVPAT slips from five randomly selected polling stations per constituency will be verified against EVM results, and the process will be video recorded.
- Two-tier security by CAPF and Bihar Police, including 106 companies from outside the state, guards strong rooms and counting centres, and Patna schools will be closed on counting day.
