EBU Sets New Eurovision 2026 Voting Rules to Bolster Integrity

Member broadcasters will review the package on 4–5 December following concerns raised by the 2025 televote.

Overview

  • Professional juries return to the semifinals with seven music‑industry members per country, including at least two aged 18–25, with votes weighted roughly equal to the public televote.
  • The public vote cap is halved to a maximum of 10 votes per payment method across online, SMS and phone.
  • Promotion rules are tightened as broadcasters and artists are barred from joining third‑party campaigns, while disproportionate efforts by outside groups, including governments, are discouraged.
  • Technical safeguards will be expanded to detect fraudulent or coordinated voting activity, according to the EBU.
  • If members back the measures at the December assembly, the EBU will work to confirm entries and publish the 2026 participant list before Christmas, with the grand final set for 16 May in Vienna.
