EasyJet Names Bulgaria’s Nessebar Europe’s Cheapest Beach Break in New Index

The airline’s shoulder-season guide ranks 20 beach spots by comparing flight, hotel and everyday costs for UK travellers.

Overview

  • Nessebar tops the Cheap Beach Index with indicative prices including £1.60 beers, £1.20 ice cream, roughly £45 per night for a three‑star hotel and around £70 return flights, scoring 94.1 out of 100.
  • Budva Riviera in Montenegro places second with beers about £1.90 and hotels around £55, while Spain’s Costa de Almería ranks third with £3 beers and typical £60 return flights and hotel nights.
  • easyJet priced a holiday basket covering a three‑star hotel, return flights, a local beer, an ice cream and a family meal, weighted at 30%, 20%, 20%, 10% and 20% respectively, then normalised results to a 0–100 score.
  • The ranking only includes destinations with practical direct easyJet links from UK airports and is aimed at travel from mid‑September to late October, with all prices presented as indicative and variable.
  • UK country manager Kevin Doyle said early‑autumn travel still offers good weather and value, highlighting thousands of flights across hundreds of routes for late‑season beach breaks.
