Overview
- Daniel Whybrow, 46, was found guilty on 22 August of murdering 50-year-old Raish Ahmed in Canning Town.
- Jurors also convicted him of causing grievous bodily harm related to the incident.
- Trial evidence, including CCTV, showed Whybrow retrieving a knife, shouting “I will kill you,” and stabbing Ahmed multiple times even after he fell.
- A teenage boy who tried to intervene suffered a slash wound that was assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.
- Whybrow was arrested at the scene, initially charged with attempted murder, acquitted of racially aggravated assault and threats to kill, and the charge was upgraded after Ahmed died on 7 October.
