Early Voting Opens Statewide for Georgia’s Nov. 4 Election

Ballots feature Atlanta’s municipal contests plus statewide Public Service Commission races.

Overview

  • Advanced in-person voting runs Oct. 14–31 across Georgia, and Oct. 24 is the last day to request an absentee ballot.
  • In Atlanta’s mayoral race, incumbent Andre Dickens seeks a second term against Helmut “Love” Domagalski, Kalema Jackson and Eddie Meredith.
  • All 15 Atlanta City Council seats are on the ballot, with the council president post open after Doug Shipman declined to run and several districts drawing competitive fields.
  • Statewide Public Service Commission races include District 2 (Tim Echols vs. Alicia Johnson) and District 3 (Fitz Johnson vs. Peter Hubbard), with all five commission seats currently held by Republicans.
  • Voters will also decide four Atlanta Board of Education seats and a Gwinnett County special election for State House District 106 featuring Akbar Ali, Marqus Cole and Jamie Parker; Atlanta’s municipal contests are nonpartisan.
