Overview
- In-person early voting runs Oct. 25–Nov. 2 in both places, with Election Day on Nov. 4 and no early voting on Nov. 3 in New Jersey.
- New Jersey offers early voting in all 21 counties with consistent hours (Mon–Sat 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; Sun 10 a.m.–6 p.m.), no appointment needed, and voters may use any early site within their home county; the registration deadline has passed.
- New York City voters must use their assigned early voting location, which may differ from their Election Day site, and hours vary by day and site, so the Board of Elections’ Find My Poll Site tool is essential.
- Ballots feature marquee contests—the NYC mayoral race (Zohran Mamdani, Andrew Cuomo, Curtis Sliwa) and New Jersey governor (Mikie Sherrill vs. Jack Ciattarelli)—with Eric Adams backing Cuomo and Hakeem Jeffries endorsing Mamdani.
- New Yorkers will also decide six ballot questions, including three proposals to streamline permitting for affordable housing, and voters are reminded to check both sides of multi-page ballots.
