Overview
- In Kiel, multiple 4:14 a.m. emergency calls reported a third-floor apartment fire at Theodor-Heuss-Ring/Hamburger Chaussee.
- Firefighters rescued three neighboring residents by aerial ladder, encountered heavy smoke and challenging building heights, and found the affected flat unoccupied.
- About 40 responders from the East, Main and North fire stations, the Gaarden volunteer brigade and the emergency medical service contained the Kiel blaze.
- In Oberhausen around 7:45 a.m., a ground-floor fire on Weseler Straße was flagged by a home smoke detector and barking dogs, and a neighbor evacuated three dogs before crews arrived.
