Early Black Friday 2023 Shopping Begins Ahead of Schedule; Retailers Encourage Early Holiday Purchases with Major Sales and Discounts

Major Retailers Kickoff Series of Pre-Thanksgiving Sales; Spike in Early Shopping Plans Among Consumers reported

As Black Friday approaches, major retailers are encouraging customers to shop early and take advantage of pre-Thanksgiving sales, with a number of deals already live. Major sales from retailers include Amazon, Best Buy, The Home Depot, Kohl's, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Target, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, and Wayfair.
According to the LTK Holiday Shopper Study, 42% of consumers plan to leverage Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales to save money this year, a 35% increase from last year.
While traditionally Black Friday was associated with brick-and-mortar stores and Cyber Monday with e-commerce, this division is now blurred as many shoppers opt for online purchasing and some retail stores stay closed on Black Friday to allow employees time with family.
Consumer tech such as drones, smart security products, and types of televisions have seen increased interest this year, with these items often experiencing significant discounts during the Black Friday sales period.
The biggest savings at Target will be made available over a four-week period leading up to Black Friday, with offers of up to 50% off on thousands of items. Amazon, on the other hand, has a Holiday Deals landing page that currently offers rapid deals as the lead-up to Black Friday continues.
