Eagles Implement Assigned Parking and New Fees for Oversized Tailgate Vehicles

Aiming to ease traffic and improve safety, the changes kick off as tailgaters collect feedback for further talks after Sunday's game.

Overview

  • The Sports Complex Parking Venture and the Philadelphia Eagles will start the assigned-space oversized-vehicle rules Sunday for the home game against the Los Angeles Rams.
  • Oversized-vehicle parking is priced at $200 for four standard spots with an option to buy two more spots for $100, limiting each vehicle to a maximum of six spaces.
  • Under the new system tailgaters can no longer choose or save spots because attendants will direct vehicles into assigned spaces known as “hand parking.”
  • After organized pushback, the newly formed Philadelphia Tailgating Association won limited concessions including access for some tailgates to Lot P and a one-hour drop-off and companion-vehicle setup window when gates open.
  • Officials say the rules are intended to improve traffic flow, keep lanes clear and protect parking availability for about 70,000 fans, and both sides will continue meetings after Sunday to gather feedback and consider adjustments.
