Overview
- The Equipo Argentino de Antropología Forense announced on Friday that DNA and laboratory analyses produced eight new identifications of people whose remains were recovered at Loma del Torito inside the La Perla detention site.
- The newly named victims are Néstor Albino Acosta, Pascual Delfín Ludueña, Claudio Norberto Nardini, Cecilia Alicia Pessina de Ávila, Mónica Protti de Guillén, Mercedes del Valle Ramírez, María Luisa Salto and Juan Carlos Soulier.
- Those eight identifications bring the total number of people identified from the La Perla excavations in 2026 to 38, following earlier sets of matches announced in March, May and August.
- Field teams recovered large numbers of dispersed and fragmented bone fragments in a sector called Loma del Torito and found forensic signs consistent with deliberate removal of bodies, evidence now recorded for the federal case overseen by Judge Hugo Vaca Narvaja.
- Investigators say excavations and lab work will continue and are urging relatives of people missing between 1974 and 1983 to provide DNA reference samples so remaining fragments can be matched and families can gain legal and emotional closure.
